Dividing Jerusalem

The great day of the LORD is near, it is near, and hasteth greatly, even the voice of the day of the LORD: the mighty man shall cry there bitterly.

That day is a day of wrath, a day of trouble and distress, a day of wasteness and desolation, a day of darkness and gloominess, a day of clouds and thick darkness,
A day of the trumpet and alarm against the fenced cities, and against the high towers.
Zephaniah 1:14-16

Are we any closer to the end? Without question! World events keep unfolding at breakneck speed. And the "fenced cities", which Israel has recently developed, will be decimated by invading forces -- notably a Russian/Iranian alliance (Ezekiel 34,35)

And now Prime Minister Olmert is speaking of dividing Jerusalem permanently, even allowing it to be renamed. Is this not a fulfillment of Zechariah's prophecy in 14:2? This reference supports the idea of a "shared" city between Muslims and Jews -- something which Olmert says is necessary to create peace.
